The Mediterranean Agri-Food Capacity Centre in Heraklion, Crete (MACC) innovates on the threshold of 2023

With innovations in agrofood products and new perspectives for 2023, the Mediterranean Agrofood Competence Center, just in its first year of operation, held its first Extraordinary General Assembly of its partners, in a very positive atmosphere, on Monday 19/12/2022 at the Technical Schools of Heraklion Chamber of Commerce.

With a statutory quorum, Dr. Michael Katharakis, as MACC's manager, demonstrated the dynamics of the newly established company, introducing 13 new members to the scheme, from the business and scientific world, presenting the first two integrated innovative products:

The sheep's wool fertilizer
The smart agriculture system based on LoraWAN (Wireless Sensor Network, using the LoRaWAN protocol, for crop monitoring).
MACC as a lever for the development of sustainable agrofood entrepreneurship

During the meeting, 30 new capabilities (investment products) in development were presented, and the AGM unanimously decided to increase the company's share capital.

MACC is growing stronger by creating new jobs, monitoring and shaping developments in a constantly evolving technological environment, through new methods in the agrofood sector, investing in research and the synergy between academia and entrepreneurship.

From the beginning, MACC was staffed by the administrator Dr. M. Katharakis and the manager and operation manager Mrs. M. Voydaski, while throughout its activity, MACC was supported by Professor Manolis Koudoumas, the Network Development Manager Mr. Manousakis and Mr. N. Fakidaris.

The AGM was chaired by Elias Didaskalou and co-founder of Anastasiadis Group Property Advisors, partner of MACC and the main panel also included Economist Gregory Kokolakis.
